No effect is expected to felt in respect of supplies of grains to the loading ports.

North Patagonia Railway:
An announcement has been made in respect to the development of the so called “North Patagonian Railway”. The purpose of this rail connection is to enable the carriage of the production of the Vaca Muerta oil fields from their location at the foot of the Andes to the port of Bahia Blanca (Puerto Galván). Pleas see the map below.

The railway connection was originally designed to connect Bahia Blanca with the potash mining project in southern Mendoza that was to be developed by Vale Mining, but eventually abandoned due to market changes. At the present moment Vaca Muerta crude is being carried by a crude pipeline to Puerto Rosales but a better connection is required. Bahia Blanca is considered to be the principal export outlet for the oil and gas fields.
