Corona Virus in Argentina

In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.

This is a way to simplify reading and for you to find the items of particular interest.
Today’s (March 16th, 2020) main items regarding CORONA VIRUS in Argentina:

-The President has this evening issued a Urgency Decree instructing Immigration to close entry to all persons who are not Argentine citizens, or legal Argentine residents. At the same time no visas for Temporary Residency will be granted. This to be enforced at all Ports, Airports and International Border crossings.
This decree will remain in force for the next 15 days (until March 31st). It may be extended if considered necessary.Excepted persons from this regulation are crews of vessels, aircraft or land transport.
-Sanitary Authorities are asking that Masters log and inform every 24 hours the body temperature of all crew members of vessels coming from “infected” areas. These are: China, European Union, USA, UK, Iran, Republic of Korea (South), Japan, Chile and Brazil.

-The port of Necochea closed entry to all vessels both from abroad as well as from other Argentine ports until new Sanitary Regulations were clarified. This decision was revoked a few hours later.Nevertheless stricter Sanitary measures will be required for all vessels.
-The port of Bahia Blanca was closed for entry to all vessels for most of the day. Same as above, this decision was revoked later this evening.

-A committee has been set up chaired by the Ministry of Transport to attend all Maritime and River Traffic, Ports and Terminals to oversee Sanitary and Hygiene conditions for vessels as well as ports considered to be entry points for potentially infected transport and crew.
