April 07th – Upriver Draft

Upriver Draft

In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.

-Upriver:
WE WISH TO CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS

The river Parana is dropping all along it’s course. Trust that you are reading our DRAFT REPORT sent during the morning. The maximum sailing draft from San Lorenzo was reported at 9.45 meters (31 feet 00 inches) today and 9.47 meters (31 feet 00 inches). The forecast for medium term (one month) is that this will persist due to the lack of significant rain in the upper River Parana, Iguazu and Paraguay basin. Two videos are attached to this message. One from the Iguazu Falls area and another filmed at San Lorenzo. A large sand bank has re-appeared after many years in front of Pampa berth. It does not at this time obstruct access to the berth, or to others close by.

-Recalada, Bahia Blanca: Bad weather is still affecting services at these Roads and pilot boarding and disembarking may be delayed for periods during the day.

-Necochea: The port remains closed since April 06th 0749 hours due to strong wind and incoming sea swell. Survey at the entrance will take place on April 08th at daylight to re-evaluate the condition.

-Necochea and Bahia Blanca: The grain surveyors’ union are still keeping a “work to rule” and will only attend vessels in normal working hours. This means loading operations are restricted Mon to Fri 0700/1900 and Sat 0700/1300.

Will keep you posted.

Best regards,
Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
