Disinfection By Crew

In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.

-National Holidays: Thursday April 09th and Friday April 10th are National Holidays in Argentina for Easter.

-Sanitary Authorities, Covid-19: In order to further clarify the item in our circular yesterday regarding additional disinfecting of vessels by Sanitary Authorities. Because of the pandemic the Sanitary Authorities have come to the front again and they are demanding extra care be taken on vessels arriving from “affected” countries. All possible areas must be cleaned and disinfected by crew, preferably with bleach (Clorox). This is a general guideline that goes no further than the statement of a clean vessel. Basically the stronger the aroma of bleach the better. Fumigation on the other hand will be controlled so that vessel Pest Control Certification is in order. Fumigation must be certified maximum six (6) months previously. Otherwise they will require vessel to be fumigated.

-Upriver, River Parana draft for April and May 2020: As detailed in Wednesday’s Circular, the amount of water in the River Parana is expected to be reduced and the forecast for this period is as follows:

The max allowed draft at the main upriver Parana Ports is expected:

in the range of 31’02” by mid of April.

in the range of 31’05” by end of April

in the range of 32’00” by beg of May.

in the range of 32’05” by mid of May.

-Necochea: Port remains closed sin April 01st 1900 hours due to high swell and strong winds. The entrance bar was inspected today and the situation has not improved. Next inspection is organized for April 04th 0800 hours.

-Antares: In these changed times we are going through we have reduced attention at our offices to the minimum possible. Both Buenos Aires and San Lorenzo offices are manned but significantly reduced in order to reduce the risk of contagion. The rest of the staff are working from home.

Attention onboard the vessels is continued but taking the maximum precautions for everybody’s safety:

Best regards,
Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
